My roommate left

Today my roommate left. That's right for the past two weeks I had a roommate, Heather. Heather, is a future year long intern with Malachi. Because she had never seen Malachi up close or even been on a military base, Malachi decided to give her a bit of a "taste and see" trip. She flew in two days before shore break and flew out today.

I have not had a room mate in years so it was fun having her around. The other night we walked down to the sea wall, ate dinner and then staying up late talking in my living room. It felt a bit like college. It was so much fun to just laugh and tell stories.

She really did a great job of jumping right into life here. I am praying she will get sent here next year and not Germany. =)

Small Group Girls

One of my joys this past week was my room of girls. One of the gals, Alex and I have been meeting one on one all year. But the other two girls, I never really had much of a chance to get to know. And what a joy it was to get to know them. There was something so beautiful about them inside and out. They want to live for Jesus, every day in all things! How encouraging it was to get to know their hearts. Of course there were evenings of counseling over boyfriends, and disagreements with friends, but it was good. It was God growing them! =) Here is a picture of us on our last day.

Shore Break Video's!!!

Here is two video's from shore break this year made by the Hume Lake team. One of them is from recreation time, its full of crazy games. It's great!
The other one is more serious. It has students sharing about what God taught them during the week. It's such an encouragement to watch. Hope y'all enjoy them. =)

Saying Good Bye To Kirsten

This morning, at 0830 I loaded up a mom's van with most of my Bible study girls to head to the airport. It was about an hour drive to get there, the ride was full of laughs, whining, listening music, asking, "When we are going to get there?" and of course "I need to go the bathroom!". But we did get there! We went to see off one of our girls Kirsten. This was our first good bye from our youth group this year and it wont be the last.

Our girls made farewell cards for Kirsten. Most of the time we spent taking pictures and hugging as her family waited in line to check in. I must say, my heart was glad that it was painful for them all to say good bye. In our military world where good bye's are so common many kids become closed off. Hurting means they invested into each other's lives. The girls have all grown as friends and in their walks with Jesus. This is wonderful. =)

Postcard Girls

Several of you received over the past few weeks postcards with notes from some of my MS girls. All of them are involved in my Thursday Bible Study. They loved writing to you and were anxious to know about YOU. They loved the idea of writing to my old youth pastor, aunt's and uncles, grandpa, college friends, fellow military families, dear family friends, children and elderly. It was so much fun to tell them about you and how you are praying for them. I really hope you enjoyed hearing from them, as much as they enjoyed writing to you.

Above is a picture of some of the girls and I! Starting from the far left, their names are Elise, Kirsten, Corinne, Anna, Mikayla, and in the back with me...Katie.
