Another small reason to love living in Okinawa....

Yesterday I had one of those moments of "I love living here"! yesterday it was beautiful out, sunny and slightly warm. I went with a friend to get a pedicure and a foot massage at a place next to the sea wall. There was some one out on a jet ski and even some people scuba diving right off the shore.
The best thing was I parked my car on the street next to the beauty salon but when I went in they told me I couldn't park there because it might get towed. I was about to go move my car, but then the ladies at the salon offered to move it for me!!! so get this, while I am sitting there being pampered they took my car and parked it for me, for free!!!! =) only in japan.

Something Inspiring...

I saw this video for the first time in January at the Malachi Staff Conference. I watched it again, the other day. It's powerful! Think about why it is so touching?

Purity Banquet- March 1, 2008

Last weekend we had our Purity Banquet. We had over 150 people there! It was so encouraging to see students and their parents pledging to each other. We had the students read a pledge committing to keep themselves emotional, spiritual and physically pure. They were given a key to represent the "key" to their hearts. The parents then pledge to pray and encourage them in this. If the students should fail the parents are to lovingly restore them. As much as people debate on the effectiveness of this, I believe even if only a handful of these students keep this pledge it is worth it. Purity always is!!!

What do you do?

So sometimes I get asked "what do you do all day"? Or "when you are around kids what do you do"? Well, Tues. & Thurs. from 2-4 pm we hang out with our Junior Highers at the youth lounge and pretty much do nothing. =) OK, that's not completely true...we do fun things together...like try on Chris' silly hats.
